SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE 20th March, 1940 W.A. Robotham, Esq., Rolls-Royce Limited, D E R B Y. Dear Mr. Robotham, Thanks so much for yours of the 16th March which, for some reason, has only just come to hand, contents of which I note. I am very pleased to learn that you are looking into the question of instrument facia design. In this connection we consider it our duty to be helpful to you and, when you are in a position to discuss matters, I shall be very pleased to arrange to place the services of Mr. Arrowsmith and Mr. Wardrober at your disposal for this purpose. We shall be happy to interpret your ideas and to make up a sample facia panel if you will allow us. I enclose illustrations of facia panels taken from the "Motor" of November 8th, 1938. These may be helpful in formulating your scheme. There are three items to which I would like to make reference, i.e. Heater. - Provision should be arranged to permit the necessary draughts of hot air to the base of the screen. Wireless - There are divergent views concerning the necessity for this, but I am confident that the modern car should have provision on the facia rather similar to the Chrysler and La{L. A. Archer} Salle illustrations. | ||
