Re
Will you please report to D.O. on the following points with regard to the Throttle Diaphragm as fitted on the standard carburettor.
We understand that the diaphragm as fitted at present, causes singing or ringing in the carburettor.
Does the effect of increasing or decreasing the diameter of the diaphragm, tend to diminish this trouble?
If a spring is fitted at back of diaphragm to keep same square with axis, does this overcome the ringing trouble?
What variation do you [maybe] allow on the .093 overlap, when the throttle valve is in its extreme positions?
Will you also measure up some of the throttles on which the above troubles occur, & let us know the dimension from back face of port to face of diaphragm as compared with those throttles which give satisfaction.
MOST URGENT.
THROTTLE DIAPHRAGM.
Signed P.H.Dalley. C.W. A.H.
This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work.
