R.R. 348 B (100 H) (P.P. 305 17.12.12) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 4062. DEPARTMENTAL MEMO. X332 Issued 17 Apl 13. This column is for Name of Person addressed. Mr Wormald Mr Radin DATE. Throttle Diaphragm X332. In reply to the attached memo 10254 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Question (1) This is a matter for experiment. We require special diaphragm if this is to be carried out. Question (2) We previously made tests in this direction and came to the conclusion that a spring did not do any good. Question (3) I suggest that this dimention be .1" with a .005" limit either way. I have tried a throttle with the diaphragm in different positions and find that if the distance in question is made less than .09" there is a tendency toward singing. I find on many of the throttles, that the diaphragm never actually closes up the low speed spout as the stop on the throttle lever fouls first. Surely this stop ought to be removed entirely as it is incorrect to limit the throttle movement at two points. WH This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
