A brief non-technical precis of the cars tried is :-

Talbots.
Un-refined, over-geared. Would be tiring to drive and it would be hard work to put up a high average speed. Disappointing for the price. Best feature the suspension.

M.G.
More refined than the Talbot. Better acceleration. Very smooth at high speeds. Suffers from crankshaft period and bad suspension. Too much in the "sports" car class to be of much interest to us.

Hispano Suiza.
Seems to have attained no refinement in the power unit that we cannot get on our cars. The improved performance is attained at too great a running cost (£75 tax) the suspension is very poor for a luxury car of this type.

Chrysler.
This is a very good motor car and appears to have an excellent performance. It sets a high standard for J.III.
