Other items of interest were :-

Radiator Mounting.

Hispano appeared to have some form of centre point mounting. Morris ties the radiator to the dashboard by two diagonal stays.

Induction Pipes.

We noticed that Morris and the new 18 HP. Lanchester both feed directly into the induction pipe between cylinders 3 and 4 with a horizontal carburetter.

We had not the opportunity of trying the Lanchester to see if the distribution was good. We could not elicit from anyone an advantage claimed for the down-draught carburetter arrangement except of convenience in avoiding steering box and auxiliary drives.

Carburetters.

The expanding carburetter appears to be steadily gaining ground, further adoptions at this Show being Lanchester Crossley and Star, also the new Invicta and M.G. models.

Chrysler Plymouth.

This is an interesting car, having a complete and very free diamond type of engine mounting.
Pipes from the frame to the unit are in rubber. The whole exhaust system moves with the power unit and is in one piece without any sliding joints. A support behind the expansion box gives the exhaust system complete freedom of movement. It is also fitted with vacuum type of ignition automatic advance, full details of which will be circulated.
