20HP. OIL RELIEF VALVE.

We see in the report on the 10,000 miles test 20HP. chassis that Hancock is again experiencing trouble with the oil relief valve of the standard pattern.

We have taken the scheme of original guideless valve proposed for this chassis and modernised it in respect to the details of the valve.

A blueprint is attached herewith - LeC. 2235.

We have also removed the adjustment for the valve spring as you desired no adjustment for the Phantom.

With regard to the valve seat we are not sure whether it would be preferable to have this raised above the oil joint face and so avoid milling recesses in the plate, or to do it as the drawing shews.
