CONTINUATION No. 2

vehicles who are now trying our Gearboxes, Messrs. Armstrong-Saurer have already standardised the Maybach Overspeed-Gear with a view to use the combined Overspeed-Transmission, the 8 speeds of which give the wide range required for Diesel-engined vehicles, and at the same time provide a close range of 4 practical speeds.

For your information I repeat the contents of a letter, written by the Managing Director of a British firm which is trying our Gearbox, to the head of another concern.

"We have now had sufficient of these boxes through our hands to have our original opinion of their advantages more than fully confirmed . . .

I enclose description of the combined Overspeed Gearbox, from which you can see that it does not contain more wheels than an ordinary 4-speed gearbox.

Awaiting the pleasure of your news,

I remain,

Yours faithfully,
E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Grundy

Enclosure.
