This column is for Name of Person addressed. DATE. Mr Johnson 29.5.12. X654 Re failure of rear spring bracket on Mortimer-Singer's and Duveen's chassis. TBB8/L29512. All of these failures which have occured (three or four) have been very similar and appear to be due to the link being a tight fit from some cause on the overhanging pin supporting the shackle. At first sight the fibre bushes would appear to be the cause of these seizing, but we have also had one link break, to which a bronze bush was fitted. The link which failed and was fitted with a bronze bush was taken to France by Mr Spinney and the matter placed before Mr Royce. On May 16th Mr Spinney dictated a note to Mr Nadin instructing some experiments suggested by Mr Royce for the purpose of investigating these failures. This note did not arrive at This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
