PHANTOM III.
COMPLAINTS, RE; DYNAMOS.

Referring to BY/RD.2/B.28.1.38. which dealt with armature failures on 3-BU-32, 3-AX-122, 3-BU-84, it is evident we should produce a certain number of the new armatures with less turns per slot and fit same to cars used for long distance night driving.

I would suggest we order 50 sets of material and produce half a dozen of these armatures and fit three of them to theabove three cars, and hold two of the remainder at Cricklewood and one at Derby.

We obtain by the new armature 18 amps. against 11 1/2 without undue sparking, which will give a sufficient margin over lamp load to keep the battery charged.

The anticipated additional cost of this armature is 1/3d.
