(8) Automatic Choke Control on S.U.'s. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

He agreed to issue a report on this before the end of the week.

(9) Drain Pipes for Carburetters.

In view of the fact that -

(a) We are fitting a filter on the carburetter.

(b) The sparking plugs are on the other side of the engine.

(c) The Buick does not find it necessary to run two drain pipes on the carburetter.

We should like Sym. and FAS to consider the minimum amount of drain piping we require to ensure there is no fire risk.

Actually tests can be carried out on 8 and 6 cylinder carburetters.

(10) 8 cylinder engine.

(a) Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} asked RC.{R. Childs} to go into the question of electrically operated choke and make sure that it absorbed the minimum amount of current.

(b) The cost of thermostat operation. RC.{R. Childs} was asked to get the cost of electrically operated thermostat unit.

(c) FAS. reported that at the present moment they were running 1.5" diameter pipe on 4.B.50., 1 1/3rd. chokes 36 m.m. throttle bodies. He was waiting to try the 30 m.m. throttle bodies. The 1.5 pipe had improved idling.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} asked CPs. to get delivery dates for the latest pipes 1.350 sq.in. and 1.125 sq.in.

(11) Air Silencers Duplex Carburetters.

It was agreed that these should wait until the carburetter pipes had been investigated more thoroughly.

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
