that the cam wears down the rubbing block under normal conditions.

I suggest, therefore, that your trouble is not necessarily due to cam hardness, so much as the combination of our standard cam with the Tufnol rubbing block, and that the solution is preferably to change the rubbing blocks back to our standard.

This would involve less delay, and could be attended to immediately; in fact we could send a mechanic to your Works to effect the conversion on Distributors already delivered.

In any case, if you will return one or two of the Distributors upon which this trouble has been experienced, I shall be glad to examine same.
