Mr. J.B. Dixon, Rolls-Royce Exptl. Rep., Cricklewood. I understand that a certain amount of trouble occurs due to sparking plugs misfiring when cars are run on Ethyl in London traffic. We are now recommending that all cars should run on Ethyl, and are therefore very interested to know whether this trouble really does occur. We have run all our experimental cars on Ethyl for the past three years and under these conditions the sparking plugs are satisfactory. Will you please let us have all the information available. We are at present investigating the case of Professor Dodds who is alleged to have experienced misfiring after 450 miles on Ethyl in London traffic.
