PHANTOM 111. STEERING COLUMN. ANTI-RATTLE DEVICE. Further to BY/NS.{Norman Scott}3/G.23.11.38, we send herewith six sample springs produced to the sketch sent with the above memo, for you to try out. When fitting these springs, the band should be put towards the lower end of the column. We found here that it was necessary to reduce the thickness of the felt from .112 to .062. Would you please ascertain, that with the spring fitted, the load required to rotate the steering wheel is not greater than necessary when a new felt is fitted.
