- 2 - and the steering wheel does kick very hard and sharply. We strengthened the front shock absorbers a little by placing another thin washer with the washers G.85602-6 as suggested in your letter RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LES5/R to try and hold the front a little. Previous to this we had reduced the washers G.85595-9 by .003, to hold the valves closer to their seats, but this caused a knock in the shock absorbers so had to put them back to standard. On examining the front of the car we find that the front coil springs have evidently settled, as there is only 1" clearance between the rubber buffer and the spring housing, and the front wheels are leaning inwards to the extent of 1/2". These measurements were taken with the car unloaded. The front pivots and bushes have developed quite a lot of slack (evidently wear) in them. The car had done 3,190 miles. Any information you can give us to help remedy these troubles would be appreciated, and we should like this advice by Air Mail. Yours faithfully, KELLOW-FALKINER PTY. LTD. (Signed) E.W.Shepherd.
