Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 1370 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}11/MH.{M. Huckerby}9.12.37. PRESSED STEEL WHEELS. Dunlops have left with us to-day, their drawing CDS.1132 which we send you herewith, showing a very presentable steel wheel. Will you please make drawings of suitable front and rear hubs for the Bentley to which these wheels could be attached. The centre line of the tyre must be as near as possible in the same place as now. To achieve this, the thread and nut of the end of the half shafts could be omitted as they are only there in the event of complete failure of the wheel bearings. The rear hub should be suitable for the stiff axle shafts shown on GCD.23. As soon as you have finished with Dunlop's print please return it as it is the only copy we have, and it is wanted in the Project Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
