1370 DUNLOP RUBBER CO.,LTD. TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: "DUNLOPS, PHONE, BIRMINGHAM" TELEPHONE: ERDINGTON 2121 (P.B.X) EXTENSION NO. 395 YOUR REF: BY/Mtn6/N OUR REF: HEP/NC. 3 FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM 21st December 1937. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. For the attention of Mr. Grylls. Dear Sirs, Confirming Mr. Sharp's and the writer's call on the 9th instant, we attach copy of our Print CDS.1167, which embodies an arrangement of balance weight fixed to the outer tyre seat of the 4.50 x 16 Rim. This particular arrangement has this disadvantage, that the normal wheel cover disc could not be utilised without alteration. Perhaps you would be kind enough to comment on this proposal, or the alternative type shown, which we understand is in use on Rims of this type in America. In connection with the possibility of supplying a set of Disc Wheels, we understand that you would like to obtain an impression of the appearance and would consider fitting these to an Adaptor on your present hub before proceeding with any special hub equipment. If you would be kind enough to submit to us an arrangement drawing of the Adaptor in relation to the hub, we can then suggest the most suitable wheel which can be offered to comply with existing tooling, or alternatively to indicate a Wheel which we could easily produce. Yours faithfully, FOR DUNLOP RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED [Signature] Manager, Car Manufacturers Division. Encl: Print CDS.1167 | ||
