HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} c. to Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} 651 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}1/JH.18.12.37. Following a discussion on strap hanging of the Wraith petrol tanks with By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} this afternoon, will you please arrange that the petrol tank on 26.G.VI is treated as follows - (1) The lamp which under both the supporting straps top and bottom is stuck to the tank with rubber cement especially on the corners where the load is taken. (2) The body of the tank to be painted under one strap but not under the other. Will you also carry out the above instructions on the tank removed from 26.G.VI and fit dummy straps. We are doing this to ascertain whether the tank is liable to corrosion under the straps. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/J.B.Dixon. | ||
