Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/MH.{M. Huckerby}20.12.38. WHEEL NUTS FOR SEMI-FLOATING AXLE. The near side rear wheel of 9.B.V. has come loose. It is probable that the nuts were never sufficiently tight as on no occasion has a nut become loose on 8.B.V. The wheel in question was the same (N.S.R.) as came loose on a borrowed Chrysler. We shall therefore have to use handed wheel nuts. We recommend cap nuts like those on the armoured cars C.6754/5 marked with an arrow for removal. We believe By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} recommended alum bronze for the nuts. Both modifications can be incorporated at once. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
