The following features will be incorporated on the dampers of this car before it goes to France. (1) Glands. O.S.Rear and N.S.Front. Stiffer type cover, non adjustable type with asbestos packings backed with rubber. N.S.Rear and O.S.Front. Adjustable glands to SY/HES.8/M8.12.32. (2) Bearings. Oil grooved, gravity fed. (3) Loads. Lighter valve spring loads. Spring rating 100 lbs/1" (4) Control. Hand control as R.R.sch. 269. (5) Casings. Three bolt attachment on front. (6) Valves. Damper disc .0075 clearance on two dampers and .010 on the other two. Spare valves with the standard .003 clearance to be available.
