R.R. Sch. 269. HAND CONTROL. AFTER 10,000 MILES.

Only a very brief inspection was made of these dampers, the centre of interest being the condition of the inter-levers and the rocking shafts. The latter were solid and had a definite diametral clearance of .001" in the main - I/C - bushes.

REAR.

The N.S. was in excellent condition, the only fault being that the hand control A.C. fabric was torn.

The O.S. inter-lever had been fidgeting on the rocking shaft, and the key showed signs of distress, also both the shaft and main bearing bush were scored near the gland.

In all other respects the damper was O.K.

FRONT.

Both N.S. & O.S. were in excellent condition.

N.B.

These dampers were immediately re-assembled, new A.C. and P.B. diaphragms being fitted all round. Loads 40/40 lb.
