To. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}.......From RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}2/MC.31.8.38. With reference to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}4/N.29.8.38., the broaching fixture for Bentley Rear Hubs is in hand and the broaches on order. No delivery promise has been obtained from the manufacturers, however, and since broaches are the controlling item we are unable to give a final delivery promise. When completed the fixture will also be adaptable to Phantom III. and 25/30-HP., but it is not considered advisable to instruct broaches for these models until the fixture has been proved on Bentley hubs. With regard to the next item, a simple inexpensive fixture has been produced for chamfering 25/30-HP pistons since the limited number of pistons are to be treated does not justify expensive tackle. One fixture only has been made on the grounds of economy, this being at present in possession of Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}, but we will obtain same and despatch where required on receipt of your instructions.
