Description of a patented leather gaiter for lubricating and protecting a leaf spring.

| The Perfect Fitting Into each edge of the cover is sewn a rust proof flexible wire. At intervals, holes in the leather, exposing a small portion of wire, are cut opposite to each other, thus forming a loop through which the lace can be quickly threaded. We claim that this patent method of lacing is a great improvement on anything which has yet been adopted. There are no hooks to tear your cleaning materials or pull out from the leather, and the result is a tightly fitting gaiter. Each end of the gaiter is fastened by means of our invisible draw cord running through a loop. This cord when drawn tight ensures a positive closing. Straps are most unsatisfactory and are therefore dispensed with. Our illustration shows the method we adopt of completely protecting the spring when fitted with The Lubrication of the Spring removed, and when closed is perfectly dust tight. It will be appreciated that with this design, no part can be lost. When the gaiter is laced in position the protecting leather tongue excludes all dirt and water. | ||
