I have had handed to me your letter of the 7th instant in relation to the stabilising bumper supplied to your Rolls-Royce 25 HP. car. We are very pleased to hear your comments on the improvement that was made on the bumper being fitted, but definitely we can say that you would not get the same result by transferring this bumper to another design of chassis and body without modifications to the tuning and possibly to the beam strength, unless the car bore every characteristic of the one that the bumper has been tuned for. Your last paragraph mentions that the frame is different, so we can definitely say that the car should be re-tuned, and we should be very pleased if you would send it to these Works so that this can be carried out. We would suggest that the car should be here next Wednesday the 19th, as soon as possible after 9 o'clock in the morning. This will then give us an opportunity of taking the car on the road, finding out its peculiarities, and tuning the bumper up to it. This work may make it necessary for us to manufacture springs of LARGEST MANUFACTURERS OF BUMPERS IN EUROPE | ||
