MINUTES OF CONFERENCE ON BENTLEY III.
24.11.37.
PRESENT: Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} By/Mtn. WSC.{W. S. Cassel} HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/FS.{F. Steele} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}

(1) FRAMES & FITTINGS.
HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} stated the frame material would be in at the end of the week, and it was agreed to make two frames one for twisting and one for the first car.
The question of the front anchorage of the rear spring was raised. This has been altered owing to the frame modifications. It was agreed that the first car should be built with this as a steel casting.

(2) WING STAYS & FITTINGS.
Completion of the detail drawings was queried but on investigation it was found all instructions were issued.

(3) ENGINE MOUNTING.
HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} agreed to work to the scheme drawing which was promised by Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} for December 21st. This mounting will be similar to that fitted to the Wraith.

(4) REAR SPRINGS & FITTINGS.
A scheme is required for an integral forging to replace the scheme at present fitted to the shock absorber connecting arm. It was agreed to build the first car to existing details. A scheme is required and has been promised by Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} as soon as possible.

(5) REAR CROSS MEMBER.
HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} asked for an alteration in design to the rear cross member and suggested this should be a pressing instead of tubular which necessitates grinding the tube and accurate machining of brackets, etc. which are fitted thereon. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} promised to look into the question of designing a pressing in place of the tubular member.
