There are a number of parts on various cars in which we are particularly interested. Dealing with each chassis in turn they are as follows :-

SPECTRECodename for Phantom III.

(1) Long pistons and cylinders and strap type connecting rods, to Lec.3860/4275/4284/4285. We should like the pistons to be brought up to the grinding stage and if you will let us know when they are ready we will give you further information as the result of tests we are at present running.
(2) Exhaust manifolds to Lec.4184.
(3) Up-to-date gearbox to N.Sch.4344, sleeve with a thickened flange, N.Sch.4275, increased leverage, N.Sch.4326, higher first speed, and various other minor modifications which have been sent through.
(4) We want a gearbox complete for Bell's rig, even though it does not contain the latest modifications, in order that we may investigate the difficulty in getting out of bottom and second speeds.
(5) Marles steering to N.Sch.4280/2, etc.
(6) 5" deflection front springs to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1715 and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1716.
(7) Adaption of Lec.4292 to the carburetters as per Ha/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}15/KW.13.1.35.
(8) A scrap SpectreCodename for Phantom III crankcase, cylinder head, camshaft and valve gear for running endurance tests on textolite timing gears.
(9) Semi-split pistons grinding to B.V.42. 20/25

(1) 3 sets of clutches to N.Sch.3948, exactly as fitted to 21-G-IV. These were instructed in November in Ha/Rs.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}/2/KW.28.11.34, and they are urgently required because we are going into production with this clutch and want to fit it to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s and G's cars to run in London traffic.
