Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3806 BY/Cgh{W Clough}12/G.30.1.28. 40/50 HP. CHASSIS - CENTRALISED LUBRICATION. In reply to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/LG.27.1.28. it is too late to get dies altered to incorporate the necessary bosses for centre-point lubrication for forgings for F.2 series, as all the forgings have been delivered for this series. We are, however, arranging for the dies and patterns to be altered to incorporate these bosses, so that they will be on the forgings and castings for G.2 series. The Works have commenced to build the 121st. chassis in E.2 series, and at the present rate of output the Works will have handed the last chassis in F.2 series over to the Test Department at the beginning of August. From the above you will notice that we have yet to build 280 chassis, which will not have the necessary bosses for the centre-point lubrication, but the Works will commence building chassis at the beginning of August with bosses added to all the necessary forgings and castings.
