CS/LS 30th June 1937 Experimental Dept Messrs Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 24th instant and in reply we would mention that we are unable to supply moulded gear blanks, for test purposes, as it would be necessary to obtain a special mould. If however, you would like to try the gear made from our standard sheet material, we would be pleased to supply you with one or two rough sawn blanks to make the finished gear. With regard to the wear you are experiencing, we consider our material will give as good or even better results than competitive materials, but, we are wondering whether the loading on the teeth is excessive and whether you have satisfied yourselves on that point. We are, dear Sirs, Yours faithfully, for GEORGE ANGUS & CO. LTD. | ||
