RE PLANET GEAR BALL BEARING.

It is as well to draw your attention to the fact that one of our LeC. drawings of the "Condor" Reduction Gear shews a non-spigotted cage for the planet ball bearing. This is, of course, an error, as no non-spigotted cages should be used in this position on the epicyclic gear. This matter is so well known, however, that no doubt you have already dealt with it, and used bearings of the correct design for the "Condor" gear at present under test.

This also applies of course, to the bearing which we have instructed you to try in place of the roller bearing on the planets.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
