A. Archer}'s third report upon this matter. With regard to your last paragraph, we rather think it is not a question of effecting any substantial saving on the weight of accessories so much as the quantity of accessories. These vary, of course, to quite a large extent, and in some cases, with the Phantom III, the customer will pack on every imaginable accessory, in the way of wireless set, etc. etc. which is not done in the case of other cars. I think LA.{L. A. Archer} has pointed out to you that although the extra ironing for the bodywork added 3-cwt. approximately, it should also be borne in mind that the petrol tank is for 35 gallons instead of 28, and the extra petrol plus the extra weight of the larger tank would practically account for another 1-cwt.
