Dear Green,

Thank you for your letter of the 22nd. May. As you can imagine, owing to the recent trend of our hostilities, we are somewhat disorganised on chassis work in the Experimental Department.

As a matter of fact, we have turned the testers and fitters over to aircraft work and are only carrying on with Design.

There is no reason, however, when you come to the Clan Foundry why we should not proceed with the various body drawings and projects.

I will pass your query about the bottom of the small locker on to Ward. We did not go down there today as I had one or two other urgent jobs to do, on other matters.

If and when things ease up in France, we hope to get on to some normal functioning.

Yours sincerely,
