discount. It was thought that this procedure would tend to make agents send more cars to our Works for repairs. It would also mean that anybody who sent their cars direct to the Works for repairs would gain, because they would get parts at actual cost price, and not at list price.
A sub-committee was elected as follows, to go into this question:-

(6) (a) REF. CJ19/E10.11.21. AND R3/G9.11.21. FRONT WHEEL BRAKES.
It was agreed that we should not deal with this matter until R.{Sir Henry Royce} is in better health.
(b) REF. CJ11/E8.11.21 AND R4/G3.11.21. GOS.II FRONT WHEEL BRAKES.
Same as above.
(7) REF. CJ16/E8.12.21 AND H1/TB8.12.21. IMPROVEMENTS ON 40/50HP CHASSIS.
It was stated that a great many of the improvements mentioned in the above letter were at present being carried out, so it was agreed that this matter should be brought up again in three months' time.
(8) REF. R7/G23.11.21 TO CJ. RE SHOCK DAMPERS.
It was agreed that the standardisation of shock absorbers on all cars should be deferred until most of the complaints from owners of cars with thick leaved springs had been satisfied with these absorbers, or some other way.
It was further agreed that Hartford Shock Absorbers should not be made standard at present. As soon as Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} can report that he has satisfactory shock absorbers this matter will be reviewed again. This matter will, in any case, be reviewed again in three months' time.
(9) REF. CJ7/E7.12.21.
(a) Memoranda between officials at Derby. It was stated that these memoranda were not entirely knocked on the head. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} is sending a report to CJ. on this question, as far as his office is concerned.
(b) Do daily meetings of the heads of staff take place?
