EPICYCLIC 3rd. SPEED GEARBOX.

Replying to EY/CUHLS/U6351., we regret that we did not add notes as we intended to do explaining how we intended to deal with the points raised.

In the case of nearly all it was intended that holes and gashes should be cut in the stationary carrier plate to pass the various points. The only serious one that we see is that of the striking rods, and if necessary we will send further instructions as to how to deal with this. Obviously the first thing to do is to reduce the dia. of the drum. since this was drawn however some further proposals have been made and we think that it is unlikely that it will be necessary to make the simple brake as instructed on this drawing.

With reference to the oil pump it was our intention to reduce the bosses the necessary amount or leave the two top bolts out altogether for the purposes of the experiment.
