which to learn something, and necessarily we have to produce
something more like what we think the final motor is going to be.
This memo contains our proposition to that end.

The query arises as to whether in the utilisation
of the tapered armature, it is your intention that the slots shall
be milled with a parallel cutter so as to be of unequal depth
at the two ends, or whether the cutter shall descend in accord-
ance with the taper so that the slot remains of uniform depth.
Presumably this latter is the intention and will give a much
better electrical job providing it is a good enough manufacturing
proposition.
