X.4655 EFCl/T. 17th June, 1925. Messrs. Peto & Radford, 50, Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1. Dear Sirs, With reference to our recent correspondence upon the question of ebonite separators for the P & R batteries for R.R. chassis, the other day a representative called from the New Eccles Rubber Co. desiring to know what separators we wished for in our batteries. We thereupon made an exact investigations of the two samples which we recently received from you. We found the thinner sample (representing standard) to be .5 mm (.020") thickness (not .4 mm. as stated by you), and the thicker sample to be nearly 1 mm (.037") thick, (not .6 mm. as stated by you). It was understood that you were under the impression that the standard (thinner sample) contained a greater percentage of hole area, and so this appeared to us previous to investigation. It was further understood that the thicker sample had the standard perforation of the New Eccles Rubber Co., and that if we wanted this type of perforation of the standard sample, this would mean their arranging new Contd. | ||
