132-8 26th October 1937. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.10/AP. The British Thermostat Co.Ltd., Teddington works, Sunbury-on-Thames, MIDDLESEX For the attention of Mr.Martin-Hurst Dear Sirs, As discussed over the telephone today with your Mr. Lund, we wish you to carry out a pressure test on one of your thermostat units (B.G.A.2073.A.) with a stiffened bottom plate at 30 lbs/sq.in - this being the maximum pressure it will get in the car with the water cold at maximum revs. We also wish you to investigate and let us know at the earliest possible moment whether you can make us thermostats with bottom plate and frame in a stiffer gauge and also if possible with stiffening corrugations in the bottom plate. If you can do this, we would like you to carry out a pressure test on such a unit and also send us one for test - we would remind you that this job is one of the utmost urgency. Trusting to hear from you on this subject, Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
