HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/WST AT W *6116. Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}8/1 15th February, 1934. Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd., Great King Street, BIRMINGHAM, 19. Gentlemen:- BENTLEY HEADLAMPS. Many thanks for your letter X/H3 of yesterday from which we are pleased to note that all future headlamps of the QBD.167. SED.E.5. type will have the reflectors arranged to dip to the left. By the way, we assume it will be a simple matter, in the event of a car going abroad, for the dipping mechanism to be adjustable to suit the changed condition. This, as you know, can be done with the RB.{R. Bowen}170.SED lamps. Unfortunately, we have this morning had our attention drawn to yet another feature which is open to criticism. One of our Retailers to whom we recently delivered a Bentley car fitted with headlamps of the new and improved type, but having vertical dippers, complains that the reflectors dip too much so that the illumination is concentrated almost immediately in front of the car. Will you please see that in future the operating mechanism is adjusted so that the reflectors do not dip any more than do the reflectors of RB.{R. Bowen}170. SED lamps fitted to 20/25-HP. Rolls-Royce cars. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD., Sales Department. | ||
