X4013. Paris. 28.10.32. Dear "HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}", I wish to take this opportunity of thanking you very much indeed for the remarkably good time you gave both M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Faroux and myself during our recent visit to Derby. Apart from the pleasure I got from M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Faroux's enjoyment of everything he was shewn, you will, I feel sure, realize that to me the various conversations we had together, as well as everything I saw, were not only exceedingly interesting but a source of immense pleasure. I should like you to realize that the confidence you have shewn me will probably bear fruit one of these days, and if at any time I can be of assistance to you over this side of the 'herring pond', just say the word and I will get down to it. You will be interested to learn that M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Faroux is shortly going to write to you to give you his views on Sir Malcolm Campbell's forthcoming effort. He is of the opinion that with 2500 HP the previous record cannot be broken. This is a highly technical matter which he is going to put forth in writing to you and I think it will be rather interesting to hear his point of view. Will you please convey my thanks to Mr. Robatham and all the other fellows I had the pleasure of meeting. Cheerio "Sr" | ||
