X4013. W/Paris. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/KT.26.10.32. Overheating Complaints. Baron de la{L. A. Archer} Gravière. With reference to Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/DN.29/RH{R. Hollingworth}18.10.32. As far as the Expl. Dept is concerned, there is no reason why there should be any more overheating complaints. We have a radiator matrix which is 30% more efficient than the indented tube type on which you are having complaints. We have put the matter up to the administration and told them we have a solution if we are allowed to use it. The difficulty at present is that the matrix can only be bought in America, but it will shortly be manufactured in England. We have an intermediate type which is 15% more efficient than the existing standard, which is being made over here. We hope that we shall be allowed to standardise these radiators and when we do we shall send you an advance sample over for trial. In the meantime the most useful thing you can do to help us is to let the administration know that you still have over-heating complaints, and that they seriously effect your yourselves (sales) in certain cases.
