R.R. 235a (150 H) (V.V. Sty. 16-1-14) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 9478. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Mcr3/B8514. Re Mex Spirit. X. 976. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 8/5/14. In reply to your memo L3/W2514, we wish to reply as follows: In the first place the circular issued by the Bowring Petroleum Co.,Ltd., stating that the Mex spirit is used exclusively by us, is incorrect. We use large quantities of this spirit for testing purposes, but every car, before it is despatched by us, is tested with Shell No. 1 spirit, which is certainly superior to Mex. By 'superior' we mean it has a higher flash point and will evaporate more equally completely. It is more uniform in composition and gives better results in carburation. The reason we use Mex spirit in our earlier and rougher tests, is because it is much cheaper and is equally good for the particular purpose to which we put it. We return the circular in question, and also the letter from Joseph Taylor of May 1st. p. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} | ||
