FRONT AND REAR ROAD SPRINGS SEC:7020/30.

Further to our memo' BY/HEB{H. Biraben}3/M.3.1.28. by which we instructed that 2 pairs of 1550 lbs. Rear Road Springs F.78264 and 2 pairs of 1000 lbs. Front Road Springs F.77917 were to be ordered for use on the above chassis, kindly note we have now been informed by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LG. 3.1.28. that the Front Springs required are 1050 and 1100 lbs instead of 1000 lbs.

Will you therefore please order the following, noting that this instruction cancels the above mentioned memo'.

F.78264 Rear Road Spring 1550 lbs(1500+Wide)Stiffer Type. 4 off.
F.78164 Front " 1050 lbs. 2 "
F.78284 " " 1100 lbs. 2 "
(With modified cambers as shown in Table below).

The springs must be fitted with R.R. Type Clips, the position of the Front Spring Clips being in accordance with sketch issued with memo' BY/HEB{H. Biraben}7/M21.12.27, when spring F.78164 was ordered for EAC.8.

The Clip positions for the Rear Springs must be as approved for fitting R.R. Clips on Standard Phantom Rear Springs.

Will you please request Messrs. Firth's to keep down the spring weight as far as possible compatible with design requirements.
