S.S. SPRINGS.
--------------

Referring to the allocation of the first 50 sets of springs, in regard to the poundages outlined in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG.29.1.29., in order to prevent any confusion you will have noted that in our letter to Firths from this Department we confirmed these figures, but we ourselves were under the impression that the allocation was not correct.

We have discussed the matter with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} who considers that from the bodies fitted in the Experimental Department, there is no large demand for heavy springs. The allocation he agrees to is:-

Fronts
12 - 950 lbs.
36 - 1000 lbs.
38 - 1050 lbs.
14 - 1100 lbs.

Rears
12 - 1100 lbs.
36 - 1200 lbs.
38 - 1300 lbs.
14 - 1400 lbs.

Will you therefore kindly write to Messrs. Firths immediately and give them the modified allocation as above.

The matter is urgent.
