X231 To Be/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c.c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} re Bensport Instrument Board. We are sending you herewith blueprint RR.Sch.355 which was seen by Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} in Derby yesterday showing the central instrument patch on the Bensport. This drawing only gives an external view of the patch and we have not gone far enough with the design to fix the exact shape and dimensions of the hole required in the board, but we will let you have these particulars as soon as possible. The switchbox illustrated is our standard one with inscriptions suitable for the third brush dynamo, but we do not wish you to take any notice of this. The four instruments illustrated are inscribed with a 'B' in place of the 'RR' on the dials, but this has been done only by way of illustration, and no doubt the Sales department will say what they consider is desirable, that is, whether the 'B' should be shown or not. Further information will be sent in due course to enable you to complete the instrument boards for the next bodies to be fitted to the Bensports.
