X231 To BY/RD. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} De/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Bensport Instrument Patch, Speedometer Tachometer. Will you please arrange to shorten the winders on the above to the minimum required, so as to avoid the interference that at present occurs withthe hand when using the side brake. Messrs. Smith's should, of course, be informed. I understand from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} that Messrs. Smith would also like to have the angle at which the patch lies in the instrument board, to make sure that the dials will assume their correct position with the instruments in place, which is said to be not the case on the second Bentley.
