Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Viles c. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Sft.{Mr Swift} 8316 SWDL{Len H. Swindell} Co-operate with DODO in getting this tested E/Hld.1/HP 27.10.36. Phantom III Chassis Costs Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} This confirms having handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} a standard lower half crankcase modified to LeC. 5313. The modification consists of altering the oil flap valves so that the machining of the crankcase is simplified - the saving achieved amounting to approximately 3/- per chassis. We should be glad if you could have this tested and approved, so that it can be adopted on production as early as possible. It is not intended that the seatings for the flap valves should be machined at all, and this point should be borne in mind when carrying out the tests. It was necessary to machine them in this model on account of having to use an existing casting. Report Issued E/Hld. | ||
