(6) The aiming handle is being turned through 180° which will allow it to clear the ammunition tray and so allow the gun to elevate to a full 60°

(7) A complete tool kit with air bottle, cleaning rod, etc., will be issued to replace the temporary set supplied with Gun No. S.4870.

(8) We have been requested by C.I.N.O., Bath, to provide a chute or deflector to prevent the empty cases being flung about. This is being put in hand.

We would welcome your comments on points 5 and 6.

Gun No. S.4871 has passed proof, but we do not propose to delay despatching it to you while the above modifications are incorporated and will carry out this work after you have received the gun at Eastney.

Gun No. S.4872 is to be submitted for proof at Melton tomorrow the 4th inst.

Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.

(S.M. Viale)
Chief Engineer,
Armaments Division.
