exist and is going over it again as the result of this memo. with a view to bringing it back to a safe condition.

Mention was made that adjustable brake ropes are on 5-B-IV with a view to standardisation and facilitating brake adjustments.

Re Isolated Change Gear Lever - It was agreed that the same policy should be pursued with this as with water excluders, i.e. a dozen sets made and fitted to various Company's cars with a view to early standardisation and to eliminating change gear rattles.

Re Lower Geared back axle - Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} referred to the 7% lower axle ratio being available. The question was discussed from the point of view of the advisability of fitting it because of more easily reaching a critical engine period.

It was eventually agreed that this should if possible be fitted to 5-B-IV as on this car the engine is fitted with narrow pin crankshaft etc. partly with a view to putting the critical period further out of reach.

Worst Features on Bentley Cars.

Fading Brakes.

Performance in view of increased weight.

Re 20/25's. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} raised the question of what has been got out of the 15,000 miles test of 21-G-IV. Most of the items on this car were being tried to clear present production. The most important item to which this did not apply was the Marles St Roller Steering.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} produced the bits and after examination and discussion it was agreed that this form of steering should be standardised as quickly as possible with a slightly lower ratio as on Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s car and as now fitted to 21-G-IV in London for trial.

HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} will look into the question of how soon this change can be effected. The advantages over present standard
