X457. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Oy. Oyl/DM.{D. Munro}5.4.30. Jellying. (1) Have you tried the effect of a high damper loading, say 120 lbs up and down, plus HP. valves with 1/32 hole, on jellying? (2) Have you tried the effect of a combination of :- (a) A rigid front end of frame. 4 point solid engine mounting etc. (b) A flexible rear end of frame. (c) A flexible body mounting, say 4 rubber cups and no contact between body and frame aft of the main support. Might not this give required results equivalent to a bare chassis plus the damping effect of the 4 rubber cups? Oy. Dk. | ||
