Proposed modifications to an experimental car to address frame jellying and improve engine smoothness.

We are about to build up an Experimental car as a model for the next 10,000 miles improvements on steering, frame jellying, and engine smoothness. To improve the steering we propose to stiffen the front of the frame by the large tubes in front of and behind the radiator shewn in N.Sch.3037. We believe that Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} has a scheme where the double bent tube behind the radiator is simplified and adapted for the single point radiator mounting. Will he please let the D.O. have it?. To improve the engine smoothness we propose to use the four diabolo feet originally fitted to P.11. We consider that anything we lose in stiffness at this point due to the more flexible engine mounting will be more than compensated for by the tubular members. To reduce apparent jellying we propose to adopt the three point radiator mounting.
