Re Chloride Battery Thermometer.
This thermometer is much more convenient than the ones which were obtained from Messrs Peto & Radford for the following reasons.
1 It is small & of much thicker glass & therefore is not so liable to get knocked & broken when in the cell.
2 The graduations are marked on the glass & are easily discernible, & not on paper slipped inside, which is liable to move & give a false reading as in the case of the P&R.{Sir Henry Royce}
3 A small round bulb is used which the acid completely covers when in the cell & on the P&R an elongated bulb is used & the acid only covered a portion of it.
