Mr. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham,
Rolls Royce, Limited,
Nightingale Road,
Derby, England.

Dear Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}:

Thank you for your friendly letters, which I should have replied to before, but have been busy.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Seaholm and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} Thompson will be at the Salon on the 5th (probably at the George V) and in London on the 12th (at the Dorchester).

W. W. Constantine, 111 Grosvenor Road, S.W.1, will be in touch with them, and they want to meet you and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Sidgreaves, and talk things over. They have met Hives but not Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}, so perhaps you would perform the necessary introductions.

They have a short time to get a big picture of nothing in particular except "trends", and I told E.W.S. you had your ear to the ground as much as anyone over there, and that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and yourself were both characterized by believing nothing you heard and only 50% of what you saw.

As you know, both members of our team have similar characteristics. So that I think an informal meeting would be mutually profitable. Will you bear this in mind and be on the lookout for them?

I suppose you will be in Paris. I would give my shirt to escape from these United States for awhile and be there too but "circumstances over which we have no control - - - -"

Please spread my kind regards.

Yours,

Maurice Olley
